Hello all, Wednesday's always mark another fun challenge over at Stampotique Designers Challenge Blog and this week our hostess is Corrie Herriman and she has chosen the theme
"Use Book Text"
I love the theme but I don't have a ton of books that I tear up, I need to go to the thrift store and get some so that I can just rip those pages and use them for backgrounds.
I did find one book to use for this challenge and it was an older book that the kids never liked so I figured it was ok haha!
I used a gelli print that I have had for awhile for my background and I added the torn book print and then painted a little bit over it so that it would blend well with the background
Stampotique Stamps I used are:
Ignis - By Artist Magda Polakow
Barcode Text AND Barcode By Artist France Papillon
Cross Hatch Swirl - By Artist Maryse Carrier
Here is my finished postcard
I stamped Ignis onto the book text and colored her with distress markers, this way the book text shows through
I also doodled a bit all over the edges and added a sentiment that a friend of mine lives by haha!!
Thanks for coming by.
Fantastic Claudine, love Ignis and the saying your Friend lives by. So many little details, love the doodling and the GP background :-) xxx
ReplyDeleteIt took me a while before I was willing to tear out book pages.
ReplyDeleteWhen I see how wonderfully they work, and the new life they take on, I feel so much better.
It's lovely, Claudine, I buy lots of books and whenever there is one I really don't like I use it for crafting !

if the book police come and arrest you I'll bail you out. ;-) Seriously though this turned out great. I found a used book store that has free books, I figure those books are all right to tear up. I'm always afraid that I may tear up some rare book.
ReplyDeleteThe details on your card are really cool--love those dangling hearts! I have an old children's book I picked up at our library book sale which is the source of many of the images I am using on my cards.
ReplyDeleteThat's really cute Claudine xx
ReplyDeleteWonderful page, great use for books you don't like :)

I have one book I picked up for $2 just to rip out the pages. My friends think it's quite funny that I feel I have to read to page before I can tear it out - I just feel guilty otherwise!
ReplyDeleteLove what you've done for this challenge!
AWESOME !!! This is really cool. :-D

This is a great post card and I think I resemble that saying! The book text works great and I really like the barcode stamp on there. Thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteLove this it's great fun :) :) :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great postcard, Claudine! I love your torn book text layered onto your gelli print. It certainly creates a gorgeous backdrop with lots of interest. Sweet image, of course!
