Christmas Cards

Whewww.... I'm finally done with all 35 of my Christmas Cards. Wow, I felt like a little elf on the essembly line today and yesterday. They are all different and unique this year. They were so much fun to do and I hope that my family and friends like them when they arrive in their mailboxes.

Cracked Glass Technique

So someone on one of my Yahoo groups posted a link to a you tube video on how to do a cracked glass technique on ATCs. She is doing a swap and I figured it would be fun to try. You can tell where the cracks are, I've darkened those areas. This was fun to do!! Here is how my ATCs turned out.

Christmas Cards etc...etc....

Wow, the Thanksgiving Holiday went by way too fast and it's almost already Christmas. I have been a busy bee making (or trying to make) my Christmas cards for this year. I am posting a picture of the two that I have made so far. I can't decide which one I want to do or if I want to make a different one. I guess I better get going on them if I want to mail them in time. haha!

Then I made my snowmen for my ATC snowman swap on one of my Yahoo groups. These came out so cute, I can't wait to see what everyone else did for this swap. I love snowmen!!!

..... And last but not least, I finished my inchies inside a Twinchie  pieces for a swap I'm doing on Swap-Bot. These were so fun to do, it's great working on a smaller canvas sometimes.

Beauty and the Beast Swap

So on one of my groups I got an idea to do an ATC set swap. What we are going to do is make two ATCs that will be a set. So each person is making one ATC in the theme Beauty and then one ATC in the theme Beast and they will be the same "theme" so they are a set. Anyway, each person is making a set of three for the swap. This is my sets that I made... My Beauties are "Tea Beauties" and my beasts are "Coffee Beasts" haha, it's meant to be silly or funny. I can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with.

Leanne's Christmas Ornament

So I went to an altered artist group the other day that I'm a part of and our project for that day was "Slide Christmas Ornaments" I made this one for Leanne. I had worked on one that day and sent it to my friend in Colorado and forgot to take a picture of it. This one was my second one that I've made and I thought I would make Leanne an ornament for this year. I hope she likes it.

Inchie in a Twinchie Swap

I'm working on a swap called Inchie in a Twinchie and it's for 6 each to two partners but these are my first two that I've finished. These have been alot of fun to do. A Twinchie is 2" x 2" and an inchie is 1" x 1" so they are really small but cute and fun.

More ATCs

I have a couple of swaps going on my groups and wanted to show you all my finished products. One is an Angel swap and we had to make 14 ATCs for this one. I made a combo of red and green ATCs in the spirit of Christmas. Then, I also am in a swap called "Rain" and I had fun with this one. My cards are simple but it was fun to come up with the idea for "rain". Both cards I used embossing in them. The angel was embossed in silver and the rain and man holding the umbrella were also embossed. I used a fun background stamp on the rain ATC, I thought it came out neat.

JAMS

A friend recently introduced me to ATC JAMS and I'm having so much fun with them. I love the idea of getting something and adding a little bit to it and sending it on. It's been fun. These are the first three cards that I did.

For this one I added the colored gears. I painted them to
match the colors in the background.

For this one I added the spider and web and
chalked around the edges with black ink

This was the toughest one for me, I added the paper
on top and the ribbon.

Work in Progress

We are doing a chunky ATC swap in one of my groups on Yahoo, it's a 2x4 piece of wood and we are supposed to decorate each side with a theme and I worked all day one this one. It's not done yet, but I wanted to post pictures of what I have so far so I can get some feedback. I have to say, for some reason this one was really hard for me to come up with an idea and start putting it together. I do have some embellishments that I want to add and some things to "finish" it. I'm hoping to do the next one in a Halloween theme but again, it's been tough for me to get started on these for some reason. I am only showing three sides so far, one side isn't done and the top isn't started yet. Also, as I am looking at the pictures I can tell that the wood was bowed a little when looking at it from the side but it actually isn't very noticable in person. Please give me your feedback.

Button Fairie

I'm thinking about doing a swap with button Alice themed button Fairies on one of my swap groups. I'm hoping that there is plenty interest because I really love buttons, Alice In Wonderland and button fairies so it would be a 3 in one win for me haha!!! Here is one that I worked on today. The Mad Hatter

Altered Altoid Tin Swap

I have a swap going on one of my Yahoo swap groups, it's where you get an Altoid Tin and alter it in some way to create altered artwork with it. The following is a few pictures of the Tin that I altered and will swap out. This was so much fun and I love Alice in Wonderland so it was fun to do the Halloween Wonderland theme.  The first thing I did was sand it a little and then added paint. I used a nice cream beige color to go with the paper behind Alice. Then I glued some different ribbons on the outside front and did some paper layering for Alice, I also used some texture scissors and some black ink around the edges of the paper to make it "pop" a little more. I punched a hole on the side and added the red brad so that it would look like a drawer handle and added some worded paper on each side. On the inside I painted the top and bottom edges with black paint and added the paper layering here again. I also added some words and used ink for the textured paper look on the pieces with words. I used a red heart brad for the Queen of Hearts tail and I used Collage Podge on top of it all to give the shiney look to it. I added the green ribbon around the inside bottom to give it a nice softer look on the inside.

Altered Puzzle Piece

I just finished the coolest swap with one of my groups. It was altered puzzle pieces with a twist and this was alot of fun. My themes were Mardi Gras - Gold and Countries/Travel -Beige tan.
I started by sanding down the puzzle pieces so they would take
paint and glue better

After that I painted them in basic black. I figured this would be the
best base color for both of them.

Lastly I decorated using paper, stamps, embossing and added embelishments.
I had tons of fun with these and I think they came out nice.
I hope my partners like them :-)
