So we all know already that I am going to a class taught by Tim Holtz himself next week and I have planned on taking a set of Rolodex cards from the yahoo group AllThingsTim
So, I had this crazy idea to create Tim a really cool base so he can display his Rolodex cards. My original idea was to go out to my favorite thrift stores and yard sales to find him an antique base. Well, everyone knows when your looking for something you can never find it, right??!! So since I was running out of time I went ahead and bought this plastic base from a thrift store and decided to alter it and make it all "Tim'd" up. (that's my new word)
I hope he likes it....
I'm also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge this week and SSS is giving away a 50.00 voucher to the winner! yay! There are so many of my favorite techniques that I used for this one but to mention one, I used the stamping on grungeboard and using it to cut the die letters technique. I love this idea and I just love using it all the time with Tim die cuts and grungeboard.
Very cool Claudine! I am sure he will love it. I wish I knew where to get a large base. Mine is very small and almost totally full already from the few we've made here. Better google it up and see what I can find.
ReplyDeleteWow, you have been a busy girl! How neat that you could make this for Tim. You are going to have a blast, I can't wait to hear all about it. And, of course, she what you made--ha! Have fun :)

ReplyDeleteClaudine, you are amazing! So clever and artistic.
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job altering your thrift store find! It takes a lot of imagination to "see" what the original could become. Love your bright colors and flowers. Tim's name was the perfect final detail. Very thoughtful gift and a wonderful way to present the group's rolodex card swap!
ReplyDeleteHow cool!!! What a fab decorative piece!
ReplyDeleteFantastic base! You are on a roll... have a blast this weekend!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I think you should make another one and have a drawing for one of us to win it, and then pick my name. Just a suggestion :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your creation fabulous base, thanksss for sharing it with the DT from SSS and S. Hugs Terry xxxx
