Stencil Crazy

This month over at Unruly PaperArts we are bringing out the stencils. It's Stencil Crazy Month and we are hoping that you will take part in our Reader Art Quests and check out all the stencil tutorials.
For the Reader Art Quests we have for you:
#1 - Tantalising Texture - Use your stencil to create texture on your project.
#2 - Stenciling Surfaces - Stencil on some unique surfaces

For my project this month, I decided to do some texture with my stencil.

For starters I cut up some of the pages that I used to wipe off my brayers with. I love that gelli plate and when I have excess paint on my brayer I simply wipe it off onto a large page.
I also use the same pages for cleaning stencils as well.
These "wipe off" pages can be fantastic.

I then simply used several stencils and white and black embossing paste. I used Wendy Vecchi paste for these.

I set that aside to dry.
I then used a couple of Tim Holtz dies to cut out my butterflies and flower. I also used a few stamps to stamp onto them and edged them with a marker.

I put everything together and Whalla, a really cute postcard.
I love how the background color comes through the white embossing paste here but the black does not.

So make sure to stop by Unruly PaperArts this month and check out all the fun!!
Thanks again for stopping by and Have a wonderful day.

  1. Very pretty. That black embossing paste with the honeycomb really made the page. OK, the butterflies helped a lot, too. Great work, Claudine.
