Some things I have been working on

Just stopping in for a bit to post about some things that I have been working on. One is a Valentine Card that I just got a wild hair and decided to do. I really wanted to use my Memory Box Serafina Heart Die. It's so pretty. The second project is a page from my Art Journal that I just finished. I've been wanting to mess with this embossing paste so I used a template to create some flowers on my page with some clear paste and then just inked and journaled around them. They make sort of a diminished re-sist for the inks. It's kinda neat.

Busy Busy Bee!! Grungy Monday 33!! Hey, that rymes!

Ok so I'm no poet but I have been busy as a bee  making things since I've been getting over this head cold of mine. Today I worked on a few things and one of them is the Grungy Monday Challenge over at Studio L3 . The challenge this week is to use Tim Holtz Technique Challenge from Aug 2008 . It was a technique using Alcohol inks and Archival ink to create this wonderful image. So cool. Here is my submission for this week. I plan to create necklaces out of these three pendants.

Working on more Art Journaling

This is another page in my art journal that I am working on. I did some of this today and will be finishing the background behind her too, just haven't had a chance to finish the entire class quite yet. It is another Willowing class. Her dress is made from several different types of patterned papers and some tissue paper and then some doodling.

Valentine ATCs - Shaving Cream Style.

So I have been wanting to try this shaving cream marbling technique for awhile now and I finally sat down in my craft room and did it. I'm SO glad that I did because the background I made came out beautiful!! I just love this technique, it's a new favorite of mine. I made some Valentine ATCs out of them and used the new Tim Holtz mini movers and shapers Love Struck die for the hearts and another Tim Holtz Die for the arrow.. Really cute! Once I cut the hearts I used the cut out as a template to Distress Stain another heart (the darker red one). Then I glued the cut out heart to a piece of cardboard so it would "pop" a little bit. The stamp came from Michael's Store, one of my favorites. I think it needs some bling or something, what do you think??

Been Sick but working anyway

So I have been sick with this terrible head cold, I gotta tell you, it's just miserable. Not only because your sick but because you can't craft and enjoy it. At any rate, I did manage to get down in my craft room and have some fun making a few birthday cards and some really cool ATCs. I also am taking a Life Book course by http://willowing.ning.com/groups/group/show?groupUrl=life-book&xg_source=msg_invite_group  I was able to get some of that done but I'm still working on a page in my art journal. Here are a few things I have done.

This is a card for my 19 year old daughter's birthday.

This one is a birthday card for a friend of mine in California.

Willowing - Life Book Class

So over at http://www.willowing.org I am taking part in an online class called Life Book 2012. My husband bought me the year long class for a my birthday (as an early gift) and I took my first class today. It was just great, the teacher is Tamara Laporte and she is quirky and silly and so fun. She made drawing a face super easy and takes you on a step by step process to mixed media art journaling. This was my very first attempt at drawing a face, so don't expect too much haha! I had some trouble with the lips, she's a bit pouty faced lol.  For this months class it was all about celebrating your "Goddess" superpowers. I didn't like the word "goddess" so I used "creative" instead. I really love how she used your best features as the focus of this page. Take a look at how mine turned out and any feedback is most welcome.

Eye Will Journal in the new year

Ok, so I have a ton of things coming up that I want to participate in and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. To top it off my new years resolution was to Journal more. So... I'm killing several birds with one stone with this ATC. I absolutely love layers and have so much fun layering everything so I used the layering technique to enter this ATC in many things.

First - I'm using this ATC for Grungy Monday 32 the challenge this week was to take your inspiration from Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas and one of my favorite things lately is to use tissue tape/tissue paper on a background. So after I painted this background I added some of Tim Holtz tissue tape, cause I love it so.

Second - I wanted to join my first ever Simon Says Stamp challenge, the challenge this week was to "Show A Red Letter Day", how fun is that?! I love this idea so I incorporated my red letters into my ATC with my New Years Resolution.

Third - These ATC were originally meant for  the All Things Tim Yahoo group, so their theme this month is green and blue and to use a new stamp on them and write your resolution on the back. Well, I had to write my resolution on the front and the Eye stamp was a new one from Studio 490 by Wendy Vecchi (love her) and I just love it!! I had to use it.

Hope you like it :)

Grungy Monday 31 & Tim's B-day

For Grungy Monday with Studio L3 this week, I'm down to the wire. I waited until the last minute to do this but this is one that I really wanted to take part in. We were to make a Birthday card for Mr Tim Holtz. His bday was on the 7th.
I used Ranger paper, Tim Coordination paper, Tim charms, movers and shapers dies and distress inks. I really love how this one came out and I hope Tim likes it as well. The gift card is loaded and ready for Tim and Mario!

Art Journal Group Tag Swap

Tomorrow my daughter and I are headed to art journaling class and we are having a tag swap. The theme was winter or resolutions. I went with resolutions. Hope you like it, it was fun to put together.

Something Red

On my yahoo group ATC_FUN we have a monthly lottery and this months theme was something Red. I was having trouble coming up with something for this one but I finally made this really cute Valentine ATC for the swap. Thanks for looking. :)

Recycled Christmas Card & Black and White Swaps

I actually got to go down to my art room today for the first time in awhile. Hubby was back to work and daughter was back to school so I had some free time. I completed two swaps, one was Recycled Christmas Cards... we were to use our Christmas cards to make 3 ATCs for the swap. The other was a black and white swap, I just love black and white so I really wanted to join this one.
Here's how they turned out.

These were so fun to do, I ended up making 5 and sent three in for the swap. I used 100% Christmas cards for all my ATCs. The backgrounds were made with torn up card fronts and then I used some of the sentiments for the words.

This card was done with the Tim Holtz mini old jalopy die, I used corrugated cardboard for the die, the picture doesn't do the jalopy justice, it turned out really cute.
