My First Block for a Quilt

I'm starting a new adventure. It's quilting!! I'm hoping to make this quilt for my daughter by mid Sept. (I hope) I'm new to quilting and I've never taken a class or anything, so this is all self taught, I'm sort of winging it. I bought this really cute, and easy, pattern for a simple block quilt and so I'm making this for my daughter. If anything it should be a fun adventure!! haha. This is the first block and each block with have a black border around it. I will show pics as I go :)

Vintage Halloween Swap

Another ATC for a Vintage Halloween Swap. This was fun to do, I love vintage and I love Halloween themes so this was two fun ones together!! I painted the background myself and then downloaded the pic from the internet. Colored the moon with Smooch green paint and stamped the quote.

Perfect Pearls Card

So I was messing around in my craft room today and I needed to come up with a card for swapping next month at my "altered artists" meeting. We are swapping greeting cards next month and I haven't made mine just yet. Since I had some free time, I figured I'd make them. So this technique that I've been wanting to try for some time just popped into my head. It's a technique using an embossed image and perfect pearls. I think the card came out fantastic, it's one of my favorites. Hope you like it too.

My Favorite Paper

This an in ATC I made for the "My Favorite Paper" swap that I'm hosting on one of my yahoo groups. I thought it turned out cute. I couldn't choose just one kind of paper (I just love paper) so I chose three different papers for this ATC. One is metallics, which I used for the leaf and the back of the flower, another is emboss resist (polka dots), I colored the white paper with inks that would match the flowers paper, and the other is just a pretty paper with great color and pattern, I got this paper from a greeting card front that I thought was just beautiful and I made the flower from it. . I hope you like it.

Sisterhood of the Traveling Scraps

I am heading up a swap on one of my Yahoo groups called the Sisterhood of the Traveling Scraps. I saw this idea in Somerset Life Magazine and thought it was such a cute idea. The idea is to swap some of your scraps with someone else, you would each put together some scraps, while  putting thought into what your sending to the next person, not just a bunch of junk but some things they can use, like buttons, ribbon, cute scraps of paper etc etc... then, make a little dressed up pouch for your scraps and make them cute and then send them onto someone else. I thought I would share one of the pouches that I made for the swap. This is just one of two pouches that I'm making and sending to my partner. The next pouch will have the ribbon and buttons and things inside, this one is mostly paper, die cuts, pages from old books etc... I'm also filling a little tin for her as well. :)
