Tim Holtz Classes At the Queen's Ink

I was lucky enough to be able to take some two of Tim's classes yesterday at The Queen's Ink in Maryland. I have to say, that I was in awe to actually get to meet Tim and spend the day learning from him. What a special treat!!
The first class was called Heart and Soul and it was great, we took this paper mache' heart and box and made them amazing, so many fun and wonderful techniques. Here is a picture of my finished product....

I love how grungy it came out and how it looks like metal and the stitches are super easy too!! Who knew??
I also was lucky enough to take Tim's Patchwork Pandemonium class as well. Oh my word, it's SO worth it, if you ever have a chance to take this class, DO IT!! There are so many techniques and ideas and it's just a fun fun class. It's a long class, but who doesn't love sitting in a room with Tim and just listening to him talk?? I enjoyed it immensely. Here is a picture of my finished piece. I still have to adhere some of this but this is what it will look like finished.

Of course the classes were full of  give-a-ways and Tim surprises. Tim is so generous, he gave us a pack of Grunge Blocks for our project and some Alpha Parts newsprint style. The biggest thing though was Tim actually brought us all our very own antique hanger for our patchwork pieces. We all felt like we were sitting on the Oprah 12 favorites show, it was amazing!! Thank you Tim!!

Last but not least, my AllThingsTim yahoo group made rolodex cards for Tim to enjoy and I gave the set and base to Tim after class. He really loved it and was so happy to have something from the group.

It was a super fun day and I really wish I could have taken the classes today as well but alas I could not. This was my very first classes with Tim and I loved it!! I had a blast and will not forget this wonderful experience. What a treat it was to be able to take classes with Tim and meet him.

  5. Your projects turned out amazing. I think that everyone loves Tim and Mario not only because they are superbly talented, but they know how to bring out true joy in people. This is definitely evident in your pictures with Tim. Looks like you had a great time and thank you so much for sharing your experience with us.

  10. Claudine, I have been following your blog and love your art. Today when I saw your pix with Tim and looked at your pix, well low and behold, we had lunch together on Wed at the Queen's Ink!! What a small world! So, hi, how are ya? We sat together with the lady (whose name I cannot remember) who used to be a Stampin Up rep and then me, Sue. Well it was really nice to meet you, enjoyed our chat and hope we meet again some day at another fantastic workshop.
