The air is getting crisp, the leaves are beginning to change, it smells like fall!!
I just love fall, it's one of my favorite seasons. The colors, the beauty and the crisp clean air is something I can take all year long if it were possible.
I decided that today "Fall" was going to be my theme and I wanted to also take part in a few challenges that were going on.
First - Stampotique Designers Challenge this week is all about "Washi Tape." I love the stuff but I haven't used it a whole lot in my crafts, so this is actually a great challenge for me.
Second - Tagalong's challenge this week is "Autumn Glory" - this is my first challenge over there, thanks to Lilly Chivers for sending me their way.
Lastly - Simon Says Wednesday Challenge is "Anything Goes" yay! I love an anything goes challenge any day !!
With all that in mind I started to get busy. Of course I used my favorite Ranger Jumbo tags. I decided to go with Tim Holtz distress paint for this one.
I sprayed my tag with water and dabbed some paint onto my craft sheet and ran my tag through it all. I did two layers, one with orange and red and another with yellow and brown.
Once the background was nice and dry that distress paint becomes permanent (love that stuff) then I decided to embellish my background with stencils and stamp here and there. I also went around the edges with distress ink. I used a combo of Archival inks and distress inks along with my stencils.
The stencil above is the new Tim Holtz alphabet and I am really loving it!! I also used a stencil by Dyan Reaveley.
After the background was done I figured I wanted to use my washi tape in a different way so I covered scratch paper with various washi tape.
I used Tim Holtz tattered leaves die to cut out various leaves from the washi tape paper that I made.
For this tag I wanted to use my Stampotique Stamp - Daniel's Tree Topper - by artist Daniel Torrent... I can't tell you how cute this stamp is. It's one of my favorites.
I stamped him onto Ranger speciality stamping paper using archival ink.
and then I colored the three of them with distress markers. I love how fluid these markers are on this paper. I simply outlined with the marker and then used a water brush to fill in my areas.
I then cut him out and even though I made three, I ended up only using two of them for my tag. I'll save the other one for another project.
I then took some hard twine stuff (I bought this at Michael's, I'm not sure what its called) and applied more washi tape around it using glue. This is perfect for bending and shaping the way that I want.
I grabbed some Prima flowers, emphera and a button.
I have to tell you that I absolutely love how this tag came out. The colors are amazing. I don't even think the photo does it justice.
The washi tape leaves came out so great. I edged them with black marker to make them stand out a little more.
I cut the letters using Tim Holtz "wanted" alphabet die strip and black cardstock.
My Daniels are so cute on this tag
You can see that twine stuff sticking out here and there if you look closely.
Thanks again for coming by my little corner of the world. I am going to leave you with this photo of the cutest chinchilla I saw in the pet store today!!
Have a great day!!
