Sing Me a Song

I'm back today with a song in my heart and ready to craft. On over at Frilly and Funkie Challenge Blog they have a challenge this week centered around "Eat, Drink and Be Merry," and I just love the theme!!

I love eating, I love drinking coffee and I love being Merry! I mean, who doesn't, right?
So for this challenge I decided to do a simple any occasion card.
I recently bought Tim Holtz' new Vintage Carolers die at my local scrapbook store and I really could not wait to use it.
I also have some of Tim's new stencils on order over at Frilly and Funky Botique and I cannot wait to get them, I'm excited. If your in the market for any of the new stuff make sure to check out  Frilly and Funky and put them on order.
So for starters I used some really cool background paper that I had from Bo Bunny and I cut my caroler silhouettes out of black paper.

I cut the paper into two cards so I could make two for this.

I then ran this sheet of vellum saying through my Xyron Creative Station, which makes them stickers.
I cut out the sayings that I wanted and adhered them to chocolate brown card stock and set them aside.

I wanted to add a little bit of music stamping to the background so I used my distress ink and a misc music stamp to do that.

I then tore up a piece of sheet music paper and glued it onto my card front and then used my sewing machine to sew a little bit on each piece.
I also edged them both with distress ink.

I knew I wanted to add a flower to my card front so I used some small flowers that I had and colored them the color I wanted with distress stain.

I also grabbed some Prima flowers that I had and some pretty vintage buttons to add to each flower.
Sorry, I didn't take a photo of this step.

I then ruffed up the edges of the card with my distress tool and went around the whole thing with distress ink.

Here is my final outcome.....

I think they both came out fun and funky and just reminds me of being Merry!!
See you all next time.
Cheers!!
