Good day everyone, here's hoping your having a wonderful sunny day wherever you are.
I have been training for a half marathon and it sure was hot, hot, hot today. I ran 6 miles but the heat makes it seem like 12.
Anyway, I have been working on altered playing cards lately. I have to say that these are so fun to make. I've just been working on them here and there while I craft, it's simple and there is no pressure.
I may do another set after this set is done. I might even do a weekly or bi-weekly blog post and post a "how to" each time, maybe you can follow along? What do you think?
For starters I made my background and prepped all 52 cards
Then I just sit them on my work desk and make them here and there. I think I started these in April so its slow going but I love it
Here are a few of the cards I've finished so far
I will post more as I finish them but so far this is all I have done. I'm hoping to get this first set done soon and then start the tutorials here on the blog.
Have a great day!!
Love the cards. I would love to see the tutorials. How did you prep them?
ReplyDeleteLove your art. Tell us how you started the cards please.
ReplyDeleteWell done on the run in the heat, that is tough! Keep training, girl! Lovely cards, vibrant and fun xx
ReplyDeleteWonderful. Love the colors you used. QUESTION: How did you go about prepping the playing cards so nothing shows through?

A lovely post, Claudine! I would love to follow along as you create a deck of 52! What you have shown here is a grand start!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful and colourful little line up, the backgrounds are wonderful. I have been doing the 52 Pickup course but have not been brave enough to show mine! It would be lovely if you did a how-to at some point.
ReplyDeleteGood start, Claudine ! Can't wait for the rest .

Wow you've been busy.
ReplyDeleteThese are fabulous. Keep going (and keep running!)
Not sure if my comment went through....do you sand your cards first? I would love to skip this step if the gesso/paint still adheres okay ;)
ReplyDeleteI went through all your old posts and didn't see how you prepped these cards. I found you from Pinterest and really like your cards but not sure how you prepped them under all that great color!
ReplyDeleteFabulous work Claudine, I love the bright colours and inspirational quotes, well done you :D xx
ReplyDeleteLOVE these! Each one so unique, so fun! LOVE!!!
ReplyDeleteSo cute!
ReplyDeleteHi! I've done this too and I prepared all my cards with Gesso first. It makes them whiter and feels like You have sanded them first so.the color grip and the cards is not shining through. I don' know if You have used Gesso first of all but I just wanted to help all the people who've been asking about this!😊 Best regards Ulrika from Sweden!
