So I've decided that I want to partake in the challenge over at their Challenge Blog. The theme right now if Glitter and I don't use a whole lot of glitter in my projects so this was sort of tough for me. I went ahead and made two items for this challenge because I wasn't quite satisfied with just one. lol...
I am also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge for this week, which is Stars!! That is one thing I do not have a problem adding to my creations. I love the look of stars in a background or right up front.
First I made a Birthday Card for my daughter Brittney. Her bday is on Feb 7th this week. She was actually born two days after my birthday so she was my birthday gift 21 years ago. :)
My daughter really loves the characters from Octopode as well so I decided to use this little guy on her card. He's awesome. I added some stars to the background, along with some other misc stamps and paint. I also added a scarf around his neck. It's been a cold winter this year so I thought it would be fitting. I colored most of the card with distress stains and a paint brush, I love the way they almost look like water paint. I used distress stain to stain the ribbon/scarf. I painted the stars with the new Distress paint (love this stuff) the color I used was Chipped Saphire. I added distress glitter to the top of his hat as well.
The inside of the card says " I'm smiling on the inside"... I'm sure Brittney will appreciate it. hehe!!
The other project I did was a cell phone case. I bought this clear rubber case for my iphone and I wanted to do something to add my own style and spritz it up some. For this project I thought I would use Alisha, she is really cute. I colored her with permanent markers because I want to seal her with gel medium before I put her in the case. I did the background with mostly Claudine Hellmuth paints and misc stencils. I used some crazy paper too but it mostly faded into the background. lol..
I added my own word bubble and the word "hello?" Last but not least I added a touch of glitter to her big pink bow.
I think it turned out cute, I just love it!!
Well, gotta go for now... I'll be back soon with another project. My new Gelli plate just arrived. Can't wait to get started with it. !! YAY!!! FUN!!!

ReplyDeleteThis is utterly fantastic! I LOVE both of them. How talented you are! So glad you joined us this challenge at TOFF - I like seeing such creative minds at work. :D
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing is the purply glitter on the hat--and I used to not even be a "bling" person--I think it has to do with getting older. Did I say that out loud? Hope you love the Gelli Plate. I have one ordered, and I'm nervous!
