Grungy Love ATC

Well, I am at it again and have been making some more swap items. I made these ATCs today for this month's swap on the All Things Tim Yahoo group. The theme this month was hearts but with a metal/grungy feel to them.
I am entering this one into the Simon Says Challenge Blog - This week's challenge is "Have A Heart".

I used some of Tim Holtzs craft resist paper and just cut it down to ATC size. For the background I used distress metallic stains in two colors,  Brushed pewter and tarnished brass. I just love how these look together and layered onto the background.

You can see here how beautiful they are together on top of the resist paper.

After that I used the Ranger copper paint marker to go around the edges. I love the look that it gives an edge, it really brings it all together nicely.

I then put those aside to dry a bit. I cut some random leftover cardstock into little hearts with Tim's movers and shapers heart form the Mini Love Stuck set.

I used the hearts along with perfect medium and aged copper embossing enamel to emboss on top of the entire heart.
I did this once and then did it again so that I had a nice surface to stamp the E on top of.
Once you are on the second embossing, let it heat up until the enamel seems runny and then immediately stamp into the wet embossing enamel and let you stamp set until it cools a little.

This is how you get your letter stamped into the heart.
For this one I used the Graphic 45 typewriter stamp set.
I love this stamp set and don't use it nearly enough.

Next I made the flowers using a tutorial from the wonderful Mr. Gentleman Crafter HERE.. (he is so fab!)I watched this tutorial on how he made these great flowers yesterday and I thought they would be perfect for this project.
I then cut out some letters using black card stock and Tim's Typeset alphabet decorative strip die, which matched the E perfectly, to make the rest of the word LOVE.
This is my finished product.

Thanks for stopping by the blog once again. Hope you enjoy the tutorial :)
