So for this project, I wanted to make one for Val and one for myself and since Val send me the template I simply cut out one for me as well. The houses I created are almost exactly the same but mine has a different saying and hers has a few different elements.
I also would like to enter this project into the following challenges:
Stampotique Designers Challenge - This week they are doing "Song Inspiration" I used the song "Home Sweet Home" by Carrie Underwood on my house.
Our Creative Corner - Their Challenge is "Shabby Chic" and they wanted you to include a crown on your project. I used the beautiful colors from the photo on their blog and added a crown to the charm
Eclectic Paperie - Their Get Altered Challenge this week is to use some sort of fabric in your project.
Here are my finished projects:
This one is my friend Val's House
(Hers says Be A Designer Of Dreams, the ribbon was blocking part of it)
I will show a picture of mine at the end.....
Here is how I did the houses
Using the cardboard cut out I first painted them with cream colored paint.
I then used the Liquitex modeling paste and a brick stencil to make the brick on the roof.
Laying that aside to dry I then used burlap and muslin to cut out some flowers with Tim Holtz Tattered flowers die
I sprayed the muslin flowers with Ranger's Color wash sprays in cranberry and Stream I also sprayed the ribbon on Val's house in the cranberry color as well.
(sorry, forgot to picture this)
While those were drying I went back to the house and used distress inks in Vintage Photo and Aged Mahogany and a distress tool to color the brick.
I also stamped the house background with one of Wendy Vecchi background stamps and a Memento stampin spot in the color Desert Sand. It all blended in nicely.
Once that was done I edged the houses with black marker to make them pop a little more and put them all together.
The little Stampotique girl with purse is by designers Jill Penney and Daniel Torrente.
This is Val's house, I like the way it turned out, I hope she likes it.
These are pictures of my house (which I used the Song Title)
I took the pictures before I added the ribbon to mine.
Hope you have enjoyed my little house post. :) I was running short on time but will definitely add finishing touches to mine tomorrow :)
Good Night!
