Texture Journal Page

I have been in my room today working on a journal page. I actually used a stencil yesterday for the texture. I had to give it time to dry so I used Liquitex modeling paste and a Crafters Workshop stencil on the page.  The triangles in the background were already on this page, I took a white gel pen and wrote around some so that they would stand out. It's funny because the triangle stencil part was light pink and blue before I painted over them. Now they are a hue in the background. I love that!!
I used acrylic paint for most of this page except the rock, wish I had more of that distress paint, I would have used it instead, alas, i must budget!! haha!!. For the rock I used Tim Holtz distress paint in the color Broken China, I wanted it to be a little muted and not so bright because it's supposed to look like rock so I dabbed some out onto my craft sheet and used my finger to apply it. I then used a distress tool to lightly wipe distress ink in black soot over the top. You can really see the texture. I also stamped the sentiment onto a white piece of paper and swiped that through the paint on the craft sheet to give it a blue hue. I love using the distress paints in different ways. It's so versatile.
The flowers are the new stencils from Wendy Vecchi, I love them, they are really awesome! I see myself using them a ton in the future.
The sentiment and black bird are from Dyan Reaveley's stamps sets.
I am entering this page into this week's Stampotique Designer Challenge which is Triangles. The girl on the page is a stamp from Stampotique (love all their stamps) The Prom Queen Image is by Daniel Torrent & Jill Penney, two of my favorite designers.
I'm also going to add this to Hel's Blog for her Sunday Stamper challenge. This week it's "You Raise Me Up" use texture! I love that song!

Thanks for coming by again :) I hope you all are getting some inspiration from my blog.
