Compendium Of Curiositues 3 Challenge #15

I have been so behind on my CC3C challenges, I think I've missed 3 so far. My life has just been so busy lately and with my surgery I've gotten behind.
I so love the challenges and since I have more time at home now that I can't drive I have time to create! YAY!
I needed to create a birthday card for a friend's son who is having his 19th birthday soon so I decided to use this challenge to make him a card.
You can find this challenge here: Linda Ledbetter and Studio L3

You can get a copy of Tim's Book here: Tim Holtz and he will even sign it for you

Linda's sponsor is Inspiration Emporium who will give one random person 50.00 for their store!!

AND one entry chosen by the Design team will win a prize pack from Tim and Mario themselves!! - make sure to follow Mario On Instagram , he's a hoot!!

This challenge is on page 38 of Tim's book and it's all about Cabinet Card Pockets
These little pockets are so versatile and fun, I have a pack and just love them

Here is my creation for this challenge and for my friends son for his b-day

I stamped my butterflies onto the tag first and then again onto vellum, cut them out, in order to make them stand up

I also used Tim's Shadow Press Moments embossing folder to create the word

This was so fun to create, these cabinet cards are great!!
I hope you have enjoyed my creation today
CHEERS!!!

Compendium Of Curiosities #9 - CC3C

Hello there and welcome back to the blog. Today I have a postcard for you that I created with the Compendium of Curiosities Challenge in mind. This is challenge 9 over at Linda Ledbetter's blog Studio L3
These challenges come directly from Tim's Book Compendium of Curiosities Volume 3 and this time we are working from page  63, Stamps and Framelits. I am using Tim's Acorn framelit set today.

Linda never disappoints and has a few fantastic prizes. One lucky person will get a wonderful prize pack directly from Tim and Mario themselves, the CC3C crew picks their favorite project for this prize.

They also are sponsored by Inspiration Emporium and one randomly selected winner will receive a 50.00 shopping spree directly from IE, how cool is that??!!

For my project I started with my background and used various colors of Tim's distress paints and then layered those with distress inks. I then used Tim's Burlap stencil and distress inks to add a bit of interest into my background
I created my acorns that I added near my ribbon with real acorn tops and a few pearls

For the words, I used my framelit set "be thankful" and from Tim's Hashtag word set I used the word #blessed

Here is a photo of the dimension I created with the die/stamp

I also added some little doodads that I got from the craft store, they were the perfect color for this project.  Here is my finished postcard

I hope you have enjoyed my postcard and make sure to come by Linda's Blog and check out the wonderful project that the Curiosity Crew put together.
Have a wonderful day!!

Art is Just "Time" Spent Creating

Hello again and thanks for coming by the blog
Today's project is based upon the Compendium of Curiosities 3 Challenge #8 - The wonderful Linda Ledbetter is hosting these challenges and it's been so great joining in each time. There are also some great prizes for a few lucky winners, one is a prize pack directly from Tim and Mario (they are always super generous) and the other is a 25.00 shopping spree from the Funkie Junkie Botique YAY!!

This particular challenge is based upon Tim's 3rd Book and you can grab it up HERE if you don't already have one. I can tell you that it is an awesome book, full of great techniques.
This challenge is on page 58 of the book and it's called Faded Layers

I am also including this project in another challenge over at A Vintage Journey, their challenge is all about "Time Flies"
and I thought this would be a great project for the challenge
I based my project around "Time" spent creating art or crafts, the time that you spend on your craft is definitely Time well spent! They also have a great prize from Country View Crafts , they are giving away a 10.00 shopping spree!

I used loads of Tim's products on this creation because I have so much of it and because it's just inspiring how Tim uses these products in so many fun and different ways

I decided to do a greeting card and use Ranger Foil Tape Sheets for the background and Rangers Jumbo Tags for the card itself

I cut them up and placed the pieces here and there to create my background

Here is a photo of my finished card

I hope you like my creation for these wonderful challenges, make sure to stop by each blog and check them out there are some really great prizes to be had.
Thanks for coming by!

Hello everyone and thanks for coming by once again. Today's project is based upon Linda Leddbetter's Compendium of Curiosities 3 challenge number 7.

Once winner will win a prize pack directly from Tim and
Mario!! They are always so generous!
AND... one winner will win 50.00 gift card for Inspiration Emporium

For my project today I wanted to do a canvas so I began by using a few colors of distress paint to color my background

I also used lots of Tim's dies and papers and other products to create everything on this project.
Here is my finished canvas

This is what my canvas looked like before I added everything

And here are some photos of my canvas after everything was added

I hope you like my creation and thank you so much for coming by the blog today.

Compendium of Curiosities #6 Altered Burlap Panels

Hello all and welcome back to the blog. Today I was working on the new Compendium of Curiosities challenge. Hosted by the lovely Linda Ledbetter

This time the curiosity crew are working on page 37 of Tim's 3rd Book. That focuses on Altered Burlap Panels and Tim takes us through putting one together, it's super fun

For my canvas I decided that I was going to work out of my "ephemera" drawer

This is a drawer that is right next to my working desk and I throw just about every piece of extra paper or die cut or just whatever in here. Every now and then when I need something I rummage through the drawer. For this project I decided that everything I put on this canvas (besides the tissue paper and idea-ology pieces)  will come out of this drawer.
I used alcohol ink along with plastic packaging for my butterfly wings, I wanted you to be able to see through them but also have them POP a little bit
For the butterfly I used Tim's Fanciful Flight die

Check out how that butterfly came out

After using a ton of Tim Holtz products (lol) I finished with this creation

I just love it, I think it was fun to challenge myself to use things that were in my ephemera drawer
I also love how the butterfly wings turned out like a stained glass window, you can see right through them

This was a fun project, make sure you join in as well. There is always a wonderful prize from Tim and Mario themselves and The Funky Junkie Boutique is also giving away a $25 shopping spree to one lucky winner.

Cheers!!
