A Journal Spread With Dylusions Paint

Welcome back to the blog today and thanks for stopping by.

Today I am using the new Dylusions Paints to create a journal spread. I will be working in my Dylusions Large journal for this.

I started this page by glueing some leftover printed paper here and there

I then chose a few of the Dylusions colors for my background
These paints are very fluid and go on somewhat transparent, so you should be able to see the paper through the paint once it's applied

I used lots of Dyluions stencils and paint, you can still see the paper on the edges even though I used several of the Dylusions colors over it
I just love how the background turned out here, Dyan's colors are so vibrant and beautiful

I used the black paint and a few stencils to create my girl

Two Normals - Journal Page

Hello all and TGIF!! It's Friday and it's not snowing yet, it's a good day!

At any rate, I wanted to show you a journal page that I recently created. Some of you may know that my New Years Resolution was to Journal more often and actually complete a journal (maybe) lol

So I decided to work in my journal the other day

Of course I had to use my favorite Stampotique Stamps too. haha!

I have this wonderful artsy friend named Terri Richardson and her and I text each other quite a bit. Not only is she a great artist she is so funny too. For this journal page I used a quote directly from her.. she said this to me during a text one night

"Just a couple of "Normals", In a World Full of Weird"

When I heard her say that I thought it was a perfect sentiment for a journal page with some Stampotique Stamps by Daniel Torrente

Here is the journal page I created.....

The page kind of just came together naturally and it was so much fun to create for no particular reason. Sometimes you just gotta "do"

Obviously I felt this page needed to have some bright bold colors, I used Dina Wakley paints for that background.

Stampotique Challenge - Painted Background

Welcome back to the blog on this lovely Wednesday

Today marks a new Challenge over at Stampotique Designer's Challenge Blog and this week our wonderful Corrie is our host. 

She chose the theme "Painted Background" in any form.

This is what Corrie says:

My first love in crafting is paint. So today I would like you all to use paint in your background. Doesn't matter what paint or how you apply it. Just have fun ! Corrie x

My new years resolution was to do more art journaling and to actually finish an entire journal. So for this challenge I am doing a journal page

I painted the background of my page with Dina Wakley's wonderful and bright paints

I colored all my stamped images with copic markers

I used Stampotique Stamps:

I love bright color in my journal (as you can see) and I just love how this page came out.

Stripey Background - Stampotique Challenge 174

Hello all, as you know Wednesday's bring on another super fun challenge over at Stampotique Designer's Challenge Blog

This week our hostess is the lovely Corrie and she is challenging us to do a "Stripey Background" but no using patterned paper for this. 

Ok, I love using stripes so this challenge is right up my alley

I used Stampotique Stamps -

Barcode Text 2 and French Journal Page By artist France Papillon

Daniel's Hearts, Twinkie and Checkers By artist Daniel Torrente

I decided to do a journal page for this challenge. I started out with a blank white page and some painters tape

I applied the tape across the page, leaving some blank areas in order to create stripes

I then used different colors of archival inks and applied them across the page over the tape

I then stamped across the page with various stamps

Once that was done, I carefully peeled my tape off the page

I stamped Twinkie and Checkers onto a separate piece of paper and colored them with copics, cut them out and applied to my page.

For Twinkie I made a pair of scissors and a brush, making it seem like he's been up to no good cutting someone's hair

I also added the stamp "Shenanigans" to a piece of paper and added it to my page

Here is my finished journal page

I am kinda in love with this page. I just love the humorousness of Twinkie and "shenanigans" is my new favorite stamp!

Playing around with Dina Wakley's New Paints

I'm so excited, I just got my hands on some of the new Dina Wakley paint and I couldn't wait to bust it open and start using it.

Of course in my excitement I didn't take photos of my process but in my defense, all I really did was paint my page and use some stencils and stamps so it wasn't too in depth. 

I must say that I love the paint and they are fun to play with, everything on this page is from Dina Wakley, stamps, stencils and paint

The handwriting is my own, that's not a stamp LOL
