New Beginnings & Old Techniques (love them)

Over at Mr. Tim Holtz blog he is doing his wonderful 12 tags again this year. As any Tim Holtz fan knows, he always does 12 tags of Christmas. Well, starting last year in 2012 he did something a little different and went with a new tag each month, which made it somewhat easier for his fans to keep up and also for himself not to be so super busy during the month of December. This year he has started this tradition with a wonderful Steampunk-ish type tag. I just love steampunk and I love the idea of a new beginning this year. I'm a hug steampunk fan so I love this tag. I didn't get a chance to do the 2012 tags last year and I put it on my absolute "to do" list this year.
Someone in one of my groups (I'm sorry, can't recall who) did a special 12 tags with the Graphic 45 printers tray one year and I just LOVE the idea of being able to do each tag and then you have a wonderful display at the end of the year. So that's where I'm beginning this year, I'm going to do my tags in a smaller version and add the each to my display.
Here is my finished tag/card for this month and I just love how it turned out. I altered a few things that Tim had done and made them a bit smaller and more closer together but I hope I did his tag proud here.

I used a little Maya Roadbird tag that I had laying around for the finger and I used the mini stamp set instead of the larger size. I also used a small clip that I bought from Stampin Up and put it on the side rather than on the top of the quote. I tied my ribbon in a little mini bow and tied it onto the mini clip.
Here is what it looks like inside the tray

I thought that I would enter this little card into the Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge for this week. The theme is "Something Old" and I actually used a few oldie but goodie Tim Techniques on this card. I always love using all of Tim's wonderful techniques.
As always Simon Says is giving away one lucky random winner a 50.00 gift certificate to their online Store, it's a great time of year to get that because it's CHA time when all the new goodies start coming out!! YAY!!!

  6. I really like how moved the tag elements into an ATC size, and the idea of displaying them like that is awesome!
