Stampotique Challenge 219 - Scary Confusion

What a fun challenge for this week and right before Halloween too haha!! 

For this challenge I made some ATCs that will be used for a swap.

Stampotique Challenge 208 - Animals

Hello and welcome back to the blog. It's Wednesday and that means it's time for another Stampotique Challenge. 

I get so excited when it's time for another challenge because I love working with my Stampotique Stamps.

This week Jackie Payne is our hostess and she has chosen the theme "Animals" here is what she says about this challenge

"We all love our animals... Incorporate an animal into your project this week"

I decided to make an ATC for this challenge, I love the size and simplicity of an ATC 

I used some of the newest released stamps on this one

Altered Playing Card Challenge Week 26

Oh my gosh, only one more week to go for The Altered Playing Card Challenge, Wow. How fun has this been? I've had a great time and I can't believe it's almost over

This week I wanted to focus on something called Monochromatic which basically means creating something with one color in many different shades. You can also use white or black in a monochrome project. 

I am no good with monochrome and it's a tough concept for me so this week will be a sort of challenge for me as well.

I started out with two different printed papers, one was a light teal color and the other was purple

I then grabbed some stencils, both of these are by Dylusions

For the next step I used acrylic paint but feel free to use inks if you choose

I did the purple card first and used a slightly darker shade of paint along with the stencil

( I like to use sponge dabbers with paint and stencils, you don't want too much paint on your dabber, I usually dab in the paint and then dab onto the craft sheet a few times and then begin to work)

For the second teal card, I did the same

Working with the teal card first, I first added a bit of ink around the edges

I then used my fine tip Bic marker and doodled a bit 

I then stamped Roc Nicholas's stamp called Screaming Bunny onto white card stock and colored him with copics

I used several different shades of teal for this

I then cut my bunny out

I used a different color ink to stamp Bla Bla Bla by Jill Penney and Daniel Torrente onto my background, then adhered my bunny and my words Even Silence Speaks By Jo Capper-Sandon

Here is my finished card

For the purple card I first used ink to edge my card

I then used my white gel pen to created some doodles here and there

I added some wash tape, I like to tear my washi tape and then add it to my backgrounds

I stamped  Mervynboy and Hat onto white card stock and colored them with several different shades of purple

I added the Goody, goody gumdrops sentiment last

I hope that you will try this monochromatic theme this week. You don't even have to do yours like I did mine, as long as the concept is the same. The same colors in different shades.

Stampotique ATC Facebook Swap

Hello and welcome back to my blog... today I would like to show you some ATCs that I made for the Stampotique Facebook page ATC swap. The Facebook group does a swap about once a month with people from all over the world and it's been so fun.

This months theme for the swap was all about "Swaperoo"

The idea is to create an ATC for your partner with Stampotique Stamps and swap out the body parts and mix and match them.

Stampotique Challenge - Punny or Funny

Happy Wednesday everyone! I'm thrilled to be back for another Stampotique Designer's Challenge

This week's challenge is hosted by the wonderful Kathi Rerek

Her challenge to us is "Punny and/or Funny"

Here is what Kathi says:

I'm not so good with Puns but I can do funny haha! 

Over at the Stampotique Originals Facebook Group we do a monthly ATC swap and this months theme is Nursery Rhymes.

I decided to go funny with this

I just drew the cow's tail myself and printed out the sentiment on the computer

Stampotique Challenge 173 - Bring on the Bling!!

Hello all thanks again for coming by the blog, this week our Design Team Challenge Blog Challenge is all about "Bringing on the Bling"!! Our wonderful hostess France Papillon has picked out theme this week. 

This was a toughie for me because I don't do a lot of "bling" when I craft but it was fun to step outside my box and create something

I decided to make an ATC for this one and here is my outcome

I added bling in the form of ultra fine glitter to the bees and the red line that Stella is sitting on. I think it turned out fun and colorful!

Some Halloween Fun

Happy Halloween Everyone!! I hope that you are handing out some candy tonight OR going trick-or-treating with the little ones. 

Halloween is a fun holiday and it can be so much fun to dress up and just "not be yourself" for a day. haha!

For this post I thought I would share some Halloween Projects that I have created this season. Some of these I have shared previously but some you haven't seen before so this should be fun.

For starters I have to share my daughter's make-up that I helped her do. She wants to be a Zombie-ish Prom girl, our goal was to just make her scary looking. Here is the outcome of the make-up I did for her

Fun right?! We think she looks quite spooky

I made this altered jar for a really close friend of mine, I used a napkin that I found at JoAnns on clearance and mode podge for the lid, added some ribbon, a knob on top and some charms, oh and of course candy!! 

Next I made this fun candy box with Eileen Hull's new Vintage Kitchen Stove Die, this die will be available in mid November.

The candy inside makes it complete, don't you think?

Next I made some ATC's and cards for a Halloween themed swap on the Stampotique's group Facebook Page We always have a monthly ATC swap and it has been so great to participate and get ATCs from around the world

The following are some ATCs I got in return, the first one was made by Magda Polakow, Magda is one of the Stampotique Stamp designer's too. She made this really cute little ATC sleeve too

The next Halloween creations were from the Altered Playing Card Challenge, the theme a few weeks ago was Halloween and I made these spooky Altered playing cards 

My next project was for Linda Ledbetter's Compendium of Curiosities 3 Challenge, The theme that week was "Effects Powders" and I decided to make a postcard for that one, I loved using the powders on my spider and graves! 

For my last project, Stampotique had a new stamp release in September and I wanted to created something Halloween themed with some of the new stamps, I made this Halloween Card using Stampotique's new stamps Skull Moon By New Artist Arwen McCullen

and Connie Shows Off Her Nails by artist Daniel Torrente

Hello everyone, thanks for coming by the blog once again. I always appreciate your kind comments and your visits so thank you!!

I have a few things to share with you today

First - I have this friend, her name is Terri Richardson and her website is: Catching Moon Beams she is like a pen/art pal, her and I send each other art along with letters now and then. (definitely check out her website, she is a wonderful artist)

 She sent me this piece of work that she did and she wasn't pleased with how it turned out.  When I got it, I loved it, I didn't think it was bad at all, I saw potential. (we are always our own worst critics) 

I decided to make something for her with it and send it back to her. 

This is what it looked like when I got it.. 

I really like it, it looks like a stone background or something

I decided to use my Stampotique Stamp by France Papillon it's called Home Sweet Home

I stamped two houses onto some scratch paper and embossed with and then colored them with Copic markers

I also used some black card stock and the Tim Holtz - Sizzix decorative die strip called "Cobbestone" to make a path

I then wrote my sentiment and cut it out

Here is my finished project.....

Now before you look at this I want to warn you, when I was putting this together I made a boo boo and had no idea I had even done it until my friend Terri pointed it out to me... Can you catch the boo boo I made?

How funny is it when something like this happens with your crafts? I am such a goober sometimes haha!! I told Terri that my house was the one upside down because that's how my head is usually, haha!!! DUH!! I just had a good laugh about it

She liked it anyway and I'm so glad too, it will be a funny story for years to come....

Secondly - I also wanted to share with you an ATC that I received. The Stampotique Facebook group did an ATC exchange and I got a wonderful ATC from the fabulous Jenni Jones in Australia. I just love it!! Jenni did a fantastic job!

Playing Around

I was dabbling around in the craft room the other day and messing around with backgrounds and all that jazz. I decided that I wanted to make an ATC for the challenge over at Wicked Wednesday, they always have a fun challenge and this time it's all about "On The Playground"
I am in love with a stamp by Hero Art and everytime I get a chance to use it, I do. So I actually ended up using several Hero Art stamps for this ATC...

First think I did was colorize my background with Archival Ink  I used this light blue.

I then stamped my Hero Arts large background (love this stamp) with Archival black, I used Archival so that when I colored everything it would not run into my marker colors.

I used my Copics to color the background leaves and flowers, the Copics are great for this because they aren't water based they won't run

At this point I wanted to stamp the kids into the background behind the flowers so I needed to make a mask for the flowers.

I stamped onto scratch paper and cut out the flower portion to make a mask.

I then stamped my kids with Versamark ink and added black embossing powder and heat set

I love the way the kids just fall into the background, so cool.

I added the sun in the upper right corner with another Hero Arts stamp and yellow Archival Ink 

Thats it, this was an easy one with minimal steps but I love the outcome.
